ART REFLECTION (final)
I have finally completed my final art project! I have to say, this art unit was by far my favorite from the past two years of art in high school. This is completely because I worked hard and listened to the improvements the teacher was giving me through my process. Art, had given me a way to just sit down and draw everything going through my head and to stay chill, I feel like this was because my teacher Miss Anya was being really relatable and calm during these art sessions. In my opinion, I feel
like my art project has improved so much since my draft. This is probably because
I put a lot of hard work in this project and gave a lot of time to complete it
neatly and make it look worthy at the end. My draft didn’t include a lot of
detail and was left quite blank in the background, but for my final piece I decided
to improve it and give it the oomph it needs. I pit a lot of work and time into
this as I was really committed to it and knew that I and to give it the best I could
and make it look fabulous. There are a few improvements I would make like;
using more Islamic shapes, but as this was an original idea I didn’t really
have any knowledge about the different Islamic patterns. I also feel like maybe
if I would’ve used bolder and standing out shapes it would’ve made this piece
of art look even better and even more eye-catching. But through all of the improvements
I am extremely satisfied with my work and I hope to do even better next time. This
unit was a really fun and cooperative unit as it included asking classmates and
teacher for ideas as well as a decent amount of independent work. This unit
taught me that art isn’t only about perfection, it’s about making mistakes and
then creating something better out of those mistakes. It also taught me that to
make an amazing masterpiece you need to have a passion for what you’re doing,
you need to be committed to your work and you need to love what you’re doing
and also never give up.
ART REFLECTION (mid-way)
Over the past few weeks of art we’ve been looking at interesting
Islamic patterns and interpreting them in our own art projects. At the start,
during the first lesson I had no idea on how and what Islamic patterns were and
how people make such creative art pieces out of them. After a few explanations
and examples, I started to have an idea of how it can be a of part of art. Between
the second and third lesson we were still learning and starting to interpret
our own ideas and attempting to draw Islamic geometric patterns. During the
fourth and fifth lesson, we then started to create a draft for our final piece
and once our draft was done we’d get improvements given by miss.
It was quite confusing and stressing when we had to make our
own Islamic geometric patterns as it had to be creative. I tried surfing
through the internet but I didn’t really find exactly what I was looking for,
so I decided to think about different shapes and create my own art. I
accomplished this by just drawing all the shapes and lines I was thinking
about. This helped me develop my critical thinking skills and using research
skills to find new designs.
Now we have completed our drafts and we have been given our improvements
and things we should change in our final piece as it would rise our mark and
would make the piece of art look incredible. Ever since we got our marks for
our draft I know what my target for my final product it and I am focusing a lot
to try and achieve my goal. So far, I am happy with what I have done but I’m hoping
for future developments. Overall, I am enjoying art a lot and I want to continue
my hard work and keep it up.
